Qualitown Thrift Store is looking for reliable, hardworking and organized individuals to join our team as Donation Sorter & Processing Associates.

In this role, you will help sort, inspect, organize and prepare donated merchandise for our sales floor. You will play an important part in maintaining the quality, cleanliness and organization that we want customers to experience at Qualitown.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort donated clothing, shoes, housewares and other accepted merchandise
  • Inspect items for quality, cleanliness and condition
  • Separate items that meet Qualitown's standards from items that cannot be sold
  • Organize merchandise into the correct departments and categories
  • Prepare clothing and other merchandise for the sales floor
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and organized processing area
  • Move and handle donation boxes, bags and merchandise as required
  • Work efficiently with other members of the processing and retail team
  • Follow Qualitown's donation, safety and quality-control procedures

Specific Skills
No specific post-secondary education is required. Previous retail, thrift store, warehouse or merchandise-processing experience is an asset but not required. Training will be provided to the successful candidates. We value reliability, a positive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Responsible For
  • Sort donated clothing, shoes, housewares and other accepted merchandise.
  • Inspect donated items for quality, cleanliness and condition.
  • Separate sellable merchandise from items that do not meet Qualitown's quality standards.
  • Organize merchandise by department and category.
  • Prepare clothing and other merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Keep the donation processing and sorting area clean, safe and organized.
  • Move and handle donation bags, boxes and merchandise as required.
  • Work efficiently with the donation, processing and retail teams.
  • Follow Qualitown's safety, donation and quality-control procedures.
  • Help maintain the clean, organized and welcoming standards of Qualitown Thrift Store.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be reliable and punctual for scheduled shifts.
  • Must be comfortable standing, walking, bending and performing regular merchandise-processing duties throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Must follow workplace health, safety and cleanliness procedures.
  • Availability for a flexible retail schedule, including some evenings and weekends, is an asset.

Educational Requirements

Salary
Starting Wage: $18.50–$20.00 per hour Starting wage will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.
