The People Behind the Qualitown Experience

Behind every organized rack, every carefully processed donation, every friendly greeting and every great Qualitown find is a team of people working together.

At Qualitown Thrift Store, we believe our people are one of the most important parts of the experience we create.

A beautiful store is not created by shelves and merchandise alone.

It is created by the people who open the doors each morning.

The people who welcome our customers.

The people who receive and process donations.

The people who sort, organize and prepare thousands of items for the sales floor.

The people who keep our departments looking clean and inviting.

And the people who help turn a simple shopping trip into a positive experience.

Together, we are Team Qualitown.

More Than Employees

We don’t want Qualitown to feel like a place where people simply come to work, complete a shift and go home.

We want to build a team that understands the bigger picture.

Every role matters.

The person sorting donations is helping determine what our customers will discover tomorrow.

The person organizing a rack is making it easier for someone to find what they need.

The person working at checkout may be the last interaction a customer has before leaving our store.

The person receiving a donation may be the first impression a donor has of Qualitown.

Every interaction contributes to our reputation.

That’s why we want our team members to understand something important:

Whatever your position, you are part of the Qualitown experience.

Our Customers Come First

Customers should feel welcome when they enter Qualitown.

Some will know exactly what they’re looking for.

Others will want to browse quietly.

Some may need assistance finding a department or item.

And some may simply want to explore and enjoy the treasure hunt.

Our job is not to pressure people.

Our job is to create an environment where they feel comfortable, respected and happy to return.

A smile matters.

A greeting matters.

Helping someone find what they need matters.

Keeping the store organized matters.

And treating every customer with kindness and respect matters.

We want people leaving Qualitown to remember not only what they found, but also how they were treated.

The Team Behind Every Donation

Before an item reaches the Qualitown sales floor, a lot happens behind the scenes.

Donations need to be received.

Items need to be handled carefully.

They need to be sorted and evaluated.

Suitable merchandise needs to be processed and prepared.

Departments need to be organized and replenished.

And the sales floor needs constant attention as merchandise moves throughout the day.

Our donation and processing team plays an essential role in making this happen.

Customers may see the finished store.

Our team sees everything it takes to create it.

That’s why teamwork, efficiency, good judgment, cleanliness and attention to detail are so important to us.

Different Roles. One Team.

A thrift store is a busy environment, and no single person can make it successful alone.

Our team includes people working across different areas of the business—from customer service and checkout to donation receiving, sorting, processing, merchandising, supervision and store management.

Each position carries different responsibilities.

But ultimately, we are working toward the same goal:

To make Qualitown a thrift store our customers enjoy visiting and our community is proud to support.

When one department needs help, we help.

When the store becomes busy, we work together.

When there is a problem, we look for a solution.

When something can be improved, we learn.

And when we succeed, we succeed as a team.

Respect Is Part of Our Culture

Qualitown welcomes people from many different backgrounds, experiences and walks of life.

The same should be true of our workplace.

We want our team to be built on respect, professionalism, fairness and cooperation.

We expect team members to treat customers with dignity.

We expect colleagues to treat one another with respect.

We value communication.

We value reliability.

We value honesty.

We value people who are willing to learn.

And we value employees who understand that being part of a team sometimes means stepping outside of your usual routine to help someone else.

A healthy workplace doesn’t happen accidentally.

We all contribute to creating it.

Growing Together

We don’t expect every employee to walk through our doors knowing everything.

People learn.

People develop.

People discover strengths they didn’t know they had.

Someone who begins sorting donations may discover a talent for merchandising.

A sales associate may develop leadership skills.

An employee who starts with little retail experience may eventually become one of the strongest members of the team.

We want Qualitown to be a place where hardworking people have opportunities to learn, contribute and grow.

What matters to us is attitude, reliability, willingness to learn and taking pride in your work.

Leadership With Purpose

Our leadership team has an important responsibility.

Leadership at Qualitown isn’t simply about giving instructions.

It is about setting standards.

Supporting employees.

Solving problems.

Listening.

Making responsible decisions.

Protecting the integrity of the business.

And ensuring that the values we talk about are reflected in what actually happens inside our store.

We believe good leadership should be visible on the sales floor, connected to employees and responsive to customers.

The goal is to build a workplace where expectations are clear, people are accountable, good work is recognized and everyone understands the direction we are moving together.

Building Something Special in Maple Ridge

Our Maple Ridge location represents an exciting new chapter for Qualitown.

And our team will play a huge role in determining what that chapter becomes.

We aren’t simply filling positions.

We are building a team from the ground up.

A team that will establish the culture of this store.

A team that will welcome our first Maple Ridge customers.

A team that will process our first local donations.

A team that will create the first impressions people carry into the community.

And hopefully, a team that will look back years from now and be proud to say:

“I helped build Qualitown Maple Ridge.”

Interested in Joining Team Qualitown?

As Qualitown grows, so will our need for good people.

We are interested in meeting individuals who are dependable, hardworking, respectful and genuinely enjoy helping others.

Retail experience can be valuable.

Thrift-store experience can be especially valuable.

But character matters too.

We look for people who show up.

People who take responsibility.

People who can work independently while still being part of a team.

People who treat customers well.

And people who want to contribute to something that is still growing.

If that sounds like you, we’d love for you to explore opportunities with us.

Work With Us. Grow With Us.

Welcome to Team Qualitown.

Great Finds. Good Prices. Better Together.
