About Qualitown

Qualitown Thrift Store is building a clean, organized and welcoming thrift-shopping experience in Maple Ridge.

We’re looking for friendly, dependable and hardworking team members who enjoy helping customers and take pride in maintaining a beautiful retail environment.

Position Summary

As a Retail Sales Associate / Cashier, you will help create a positive shopping experience for every Qualitown customer.

You will assist customers, process purchases at the checkout, organize merchandise and help keep the sales floor clean, attractive and easy to shop.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Operate the POS system and process customer purchases accurately
Handle cash, debit and credit transactions responsibly
Answer customer questions and help customers locate merchandise
Restock and organize merchandise throughout the sales floor
Maintain clean and organized racks, shelves and displays
Return misplaced merchandise to the appropriate departments
Assist with pricing, tagging and merchandising when required
Help maintain fitting rooms and customer areas
Follow store policies and loss-prevention procedures
Work cooperatively with cashiers, sorters, supervisors and management
Assist with opening and closing duties when scheduled
Perform other reasonable retail duties as required

What We’re Looking For

Previous retail or customer-service experience is preferred
Previous thrift-store experience is an asset
Friendly and professional customer-service skills
Dependable and punctual
Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
Good communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong attention to organization and cleanliness
Comfortable standing and moving throughout a shift
Willingness to learn Qualitown’s POS system and store procedures
Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as required

Must be able to perform regular retail duties such as stocking, organizing and moving merchandise.
Must maintain a friendly, respectful and professional attitude toward customers and coworkers.
Must follow Qualitown’s customer-service, safety, cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures.
Must be willing to participate in training and learn Qualitown’s POS and store procedures.
