Qualitown Store

Store Closed

Please Read The Reason We're Closing

I must clarify why Qualitown is closing from this current location. Qualitown has been in this location since 2016, paying our monthly rent of over $8000 without any issues. We never skip rent but have given post-dated cheques in advance all these years. At a point, Qualitown was interested in buying this location, but the landlord said he was not ready to sell yet. I told him, please inform us when you decide to, as we’re working hard to keep a sustainable financial record for this purpose. Being faithful tenants, we excepted and trusted the landlord to inform us if he decided to sell the place. However, the site finally got sold without the knowledge of Qualitown. Who would do such a thing? In a case where the tenant is interested in buying it after paying over $8000 for six years. Would any of you treat anyone in such a manners?

Qualitown is a successful growing business with an open heart to support the community and those in need.

Finally, the Qualitown location was sold to a new landlord who asked us to move out of the building by the 31st of December, 2022. To remain in this location, we offered $15,000 monthly rent with a 12-month post-dated cheque to be here till we find a new place, but they refused and wanted us out by all means. It was a very heartbroken notice because the business is a community-friendly store. Imagine that, just for us to remain in this location; we offered to pay twice the current amount to stay in business till we found another place.

Therefore, the rent increase wasn’t the issue here. The rent did not increase.

Qualitown was forced to move from this location by the new landlord. We’re looking for a new site. If anyone finds a place to accommodate us to keep Qualitown in Campbell River, please get in touch with us as soon as possible

  2. That’s absolutely absurd!! $8000 a month! And then offering double and they said no! Whatever goes into that space better be good!
Hope you guys find a new location!
